Joining the CFDT
"Be informed, be defended, be accompanied".
This formula summarizes the three major categories of services to which all members have the rights.
Thus, joining the CFDT is first of all having access to privileged information, via CFDT magazine for example, but also through all of the publications of the different agencies that you depend on : union, regional union or federation, that produce their own magazines, and that can shed an additional light on confederal information.
If you are a cadre, and your union has identified you as such, you should also receive the CFDT Cadres magazine. And finally, the internet portal (www.cfdt.fr) offers the advantage of providing the most recent news. You were thus able to follow the manifestations against the retirement reforms in direct!
Membership also guarantees that you will be defended in case of litigation or conflict with your employer. You can be assisted in your efforts to ensure your defense by the CFDT structures (union or departmental union). Keep in mind that most of the local offices of the CFDT propose legal advice permanencies. Depending on the proceedings, and on the condition of six months prior membership, this assistance will be ensured by an employee defense specialist or a lawyer. In the first case, the fees will be borne by the CFDT structure. In the second, they will be covered to a defined limit, for example 60% of the legal fees in first instance and appeal (including administrative courts). All members, as long as they joined more than six months previously, can also benefit from a professional insurance, that is to say of a legal assistance to be defended in front of a criminal, civil or administrative court if you are personally implication linked to your professional activity.
